Festival of Lights 2009

The girls, Troy and I and gammy went to the Festival of Lights last night. It was a cold night so we bundled all up and headed off for some holiday cheer. The lights were great as usual and we then made a stop into Santa's Village for some fun! Harper rode the carousel two times- once on a horse and once on a tiger!! She could have ridden it all night I do believe. And Adley- yep you guessed it- just slept like the little angel she is! She slept that is until an unruly dog growled in her little ear while we were waiting in line to see Santa.
I had the brilliant idea to go look at Santa and just say hello because I truly thought Harper would be way too scared to consider sitting on his lap. But of course, I was mistaken. So, we got in line just in time for Santa to take his break!! Ugh! Harper and I got marshmallows for her to roast and Troy bought her popcorn as bribery for going home (which did not work). We waited for one hour and fifteen minutes and it was worth every single minute!! She told us she was going to ask Santa for decorations (????), lights, piece of gums, and a toy to play with. EASY ENOUGH SANTA! Then she got up there, and said nothing. She just kept this silly grin on her face and sat there like a little statue. Adley- usually the chill one- screamed and cried when we sat her on his lap! All in all it was a perfect night and one I'll never forget. I mean- this Santa had gammy and I really questioning whether or not he was real- INCREDIBLE!!

Kiddo Update

Ok here's a recent update on what my girls are up to.

Adley:
She has learned how to clap and sign more. She loves to dance and clap at the same time and then we say YAY!! She gets so excited. She had tubes put in last week so hopefully we will not have any more ear infections for awhile and hopefully now she can hear us!! More than anything, we hope she will now sleep through the night. It has been a LONG TIME since we have had good sleep at our house- like since last February!!!

Harper:
She is such a chatty cathy this child! She tells us such funny things and Troy and I just look at each other and laugh. She pointed out power lines yesterday and said "those are so dangerous mommy". I don't know where she gets all her knowledge but she is such a sponge! I am going to be staying at home with these two so hopefully I will get to watch her learn and grow even more!!

Christmas Parade 2009

We took the girls to the Mt Pleasant Christmas Parade last night and it was so great. The weather was kinda yucky- rainy- but it was quite warm. We loaded up all our gear and headed to Fonduely Yours to meet up with Randy and Kandi for some holiday fun! We told Harper that we were going to see Santa so when we got there, she said "Where's Santa?". She sure did NOT want to wait until the end of the parade to see him! So we waited and cheered at all the floats and ate graham crackers...while Adley just chilled in her usual laid back state...until FINALLY HE CAME!!! She was so excited I thought she would explode!!!! It was the cutest, sweetest, most precious moment ever! Christmas Day is going to be so fantastic this year!!!

Thanksgiving in WV

We headed up to WV this year for Thanksgiving with Troy's family. I was so nervous about how the girls would do traveling and of course they outdid themselves. There was no crying on the way up there and they just went straight to sleep when we arrived that night. We stopped twice to let them play and stretch their legs and burn off some energy and it was great!
We had such a great time with everyone up in WV. The girls did so great and Adley got to meet tons of new family! They got to play with their cousin Lincoln and even see some snow! Very cool-
On the way home we stopped for the night in Columbia and played with Porter and Hudson. This was also so much fun! The played and played and wore themselves totally out-which was the plan! We had such a great Thanksgiving. Now on to Santa!!

Lawrence Friend Thanksgiving

The Lawrence Crew does a Thanksgiving party for our friends every year and this year was the best yet! We had a total of 40 people at our house and 14 of those kids. Funny how we have grown so much! 14 kids from three months eight years. It was so crazy but so much fun. They just ran around, cried, fought, laughed and some of them ate...So much fun. Can't wait to see who adds one to the crew for next year! Honestly, I cannot believe we got a picture of them all. It was quite the task! Harper kept screaming-"mommy I'm holding two babies!"- when she got to hold Parker and Adley. She was so excited!! Was anything this much fun before we had kids??

Our Monkeys!

It has been awhile since I've posted so I'll just give an update. Harper had an ear infection last week and was home from school everyday so Mimi came to stay with her. They had a great time and did lots and lots of crafts! She is still so in love with her sister but we have to watch her like a hawk- she squeezes Adley so hard!! School is going great for her. She has learned how to spell her name and points out H's everywhere!

Adley is still working on standing up but was sick for about a month so this has put her mission a little behind. She can pull up- and does so on EVERYTHING and puts anything she can find in her mouth. She has grown to LOVE eating! She eats cheese, turkey, green beans, fruit, tomotoes-anything she can get her hands on goes into her mouth. She is growing so fast- my little tiny pixie!

Halloween Past

Ellie and Harper have trick or treated the past three years. Look at them!! What big girls they are now!!

Halloween 2009!!

This Halloween was so much fun! We were all pumped up and ready to go- then Troy got sick and we had to go it alone!! We got all dressed up and headed over to Lane and Ellie's house and trick or treat for a bit and then back home so daddy could take Harper out some. I got Harper a superwoman outfit a month of so ago and figured that would work but she kept changing her mind- so cat it was! Adley was the most precious pirate you've ever seen! Harper was a pro and had the heaviest bag of all. Her and Ellie were so cute and have officially trick or treated together the past three years- A tradition is born!

Me and My Daddy

Just too sweet not to share!!

Update

Just wanted to send an update on my girls with some cute pictures! Harper is in the three's class now and is just as crazy as ever. She has her share of green and yellow days (in trouble once or twice) but who can blame her-she is there for 10 hours a day! She is getting so big and says just the funniest things. Troy and I just look at each other and laugh until we cry. Her imagination sure has kicked in too. We are always pretending. I am the daddy, she is the mommy,Adley is the baby and Troy is granny (????). She wears her heels to drop baby off at school to teacher and gets so upset when she doesn't have blue day. She is a little mommy already! She is still attached to mommy but daddy is working on trying to steel her away from me- which I am not pleased with! She is totally into puzzles, drawing, princesses, and pretending- all the things a little girl is supposed to be into!! And she loves her baby sisty!! My baby is growing too fast!

Adley is a weed as well- a little tiny weed- but a weed nonetheless. She has been sick with an ear infection for a month so this has really but my hopes for her having a growth spurt on hold. My little pixie! Her hair has settled down but is so long and still all over the place. She is crawling everywhere and will pull up on just about anything. She'll be walking soon I know. She can wave and say bye bye and says mama mama constantly- yay! Harper and I taught her to say no no no too. She shakes her head wildly if you tell her to say it. It is hilarious- except for one minor negative, when you try to feed her she just shakes her head no no no instead of eating. OOPS! She moved up to the crawler room at school but has only been in there about two days since she has been sick for forever. Oh and she loves her big sissy!!! These girls are the twinkle in our eyes and we are so lucky to have such awesome little girls! I just love sharing pictures and updates about them. It makes me smile! Enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the annual Pumpkin Patch at Boone Hall this past weekend. Troy and I decided it is major rip off and way too expensive but Harper had a good time I think. We didn't even get a pumpkin there but we "picked" one. Harper jumped and slid down the jump castle slide a million times and even got some dots (candy). We got some cute pictures and it was a perfectly cool fall day.

Park Day 2009

I took the girls to Park Day on Daniel Island this past Saturday. We went with Lane, Ellie and Reesey. It was hot as all get out but we had a good time! Adley just hung out the whole time in the stroller and didn't make a peep although I know she was sweating to death. Harper and Ellie had a good ole time going down slides, petting animals and getting their faces painted. If it weren't for naptime,we would have stayed all day!

Just Us Girls!

Daddy decided to take a camping and hiking trip with poppy and Mr. Randy so that left me and girlies to take care of ourselves for the weekend. What did we do?? We partied of course!!! Friday night we went to Ms. Lane and Ellie's house and Morgan and Ms. Melissa and Miles came too!! The girls watched Tinkerbell (sort of) and we just sat and talked. Of course Adley and Miles would not go to sleep as planned so it was a short night. On Saturday, we went with Lane, Ellie and Reesey to Park Day on Daniel Island and it was so hot! We had fun though. Then, after three and a half hour naps (yay!!!) Lane, Ellie and Reesey came over for frozen pizza and to play a little bit. The girls watched some of Olivia (from aunt Tiff) and just hunt out. Then on Sunday I took the girls to Barnes and Noble and Harper played for about an hour and a half. She had a blast!! Adley just hung out too! Then we napped and got ready for daddy to come home! What a great weekend with my girls!!! Oh yeah and Adley started to wave bye bye. It is so cute and she thinks it is downright hilarious!!
GIRLS RULE BOYS DROOL!!!

You Look Gorgeous Darling!

I got Harper a super cool make-up kit for her b-day. Troy almost killed me but I was so excited! And guess what- Harper LOVES IT!!!!!!!! She has played with it endlessly and made herself into an esquisite creature time and time again- ok so maybe she looks like she has on war make-up of an african tribe but whatever. She's beautiful and my big girl!

I'm Standing!

Adley has just now perfected her crawling and she is over it. She has moved on to pulling up and trying to stand on her own. She throws her hiney up in the air and puts her feet on the ground- hilarious! So we pulled out the Leap Frog standing toy for her to practice. Of course, she loves it and tries to pull up on everything!!! She even tries to pull up on Harper's legs. Harper is like- WHAT IS SHE DOING MOMMY?!

Hud and Ad

I think Hudson and Adley are going to be great buds as soon as little ms Adley starts walking. They like to look at each other and take each other's toys and they are so funny to watch. We'll have our hands full in the years to come with these two.

I'm 3!!!!!!!

Harper turned three on September 30th and we took her and met Ellie and Lane at Chick-fil-a for a little fun. The girls ate and played and had a good ole time and I accidentally mentioned cake, jump castle and presents to Ellie and had to convince her she would be over to our house soon to celebrate-oops!!!

Anyway, Harper's b-day was a blast! After cleaning and planning for days, it turned out perfect and everyone had a great time. We had a jump castle and lots of Harper's toys out to play with, and of course and play ground. We had such a great time with all of Harper's friends and I enjoyed meeting some of the parents. My mom and dad even came down to help us get everything ready so it was totally worth all the hard work! Even Adley had a great time jumping on the jump castle with her poppy! She laughed and squealed for about thirty minutes!

Princess Nightgown

Gammie sent the girls some PJ's yesterday and Harper about died when she saw hers! She has a princess nightgown, slippers and headband and so we had a fashion show. It could not have been a better gift from her gammie!! I'm sure I'll have to wash it daily so she can sleep in it every night.
THANKS GAMMIE!

Go Cocks and Go Eers!!

Last Friday was "team day" at the girls' school so we we dressed up out girls in their respective team outfits! We tried to squeeze Adley into her Mountaineers cheerleading outfit but it was not working and she was screaming so I decided a onesie would work! Harper wore the cutest Gamecock outfit in the world and then proceeded to tee tee in her outfit in the front yard as we were leaving for school! So, our go team day didn't work out as planned but what ever does right?? We did manage to capture my beautiful girls on camera in just about the cutest picture I've ever seen!! Go cocks and eers!!!
