Festival of Lights 2009

The girls, Troy and I and gammy went to the Festival of Lights last night. It was a cold night so we bundled all up and headed off for some holiday cheer. The lights were great as usual and we then made a stop into Santa's Village for some fun! Harper rode the carousel two times- once on a horse and once on a tiger!! She could have ridden it all night I do believe. And Adley- yep you guessed it- just slept like the little angel she is! She slept that is until an unruly dog growled in her little ear while we were waiting in line to see Santa.
I had the brilliant idea to go look at Santa and just say hello because I truly thought Harper would be way too scared to consider sitting on his lap. But of course, I was mistaken. So, we got in line just in time for Santa to take his break!! Ugh! Harper and I got marshmallows for her to roast and Troy bought her popcorn as bribery for going home (which did not work). We waited for one hour and fifteen minutes and it was worth every single minute!! She told us she was going to ask Santa for decorations (????), lights, piece of gums, and a toy to play with. EASY ENOUGH SANTA! Then she got up there, and said nothing. She just kept this silly grin on her face and sat there like a little statue. Adley- usually the chill one- screamed and cried when we sat her on his lap! All in all it was a perfect night and one I'll never forget. I mean- this Santa had gammy and I really questioning whether or not he was real- INCREDIBLE!!

Kiddo Update

Ok here's a recent update on what my girls are up to.

Adley:
She has learned how to clap and sign more. She loves to dance and clap at the same time and then we say YAY!! She gets so excited. She had tubes put in last week so hopefully we will not have any more ear infections for awhile and hopefully now she can hear us!! More than anything, we hope she will now sleep through the night. It has been a LONG TIME since we have had good sleep at our house- like since last February!!!

Harper:
She is such a chatty cathy this child! She tells us such funny things and Troy and I just look at each other and laugh. She pointed out power lines yesterday and said "those are so dangerous mommy". I don't know where she gets all her knowledge but she is such a sponge! I am going to be staying at home with these two so hopefully I will get to watch her learn and grow even more!!

Christmas Parade 2009

We took the girls to the Mt Pleasant Christmas Parade last night and it was so great. The weather was kinda yucky- rainy- but it was quite warm. We loaded up all our gear and headed to Fonduely Yours to meet up with Randy and Kandi for some holiday fun! We told Harper that we were going to see Santa so when we got there, she said "Where's Santa?". She sure did NOT want to wait until the end of the parade to see him! So we waited and cheered at all the floats and ate graham crackers...while Adley just chilled in her usual laid back state...until FINALLY HE CAME!!! She was so excited I thought she would explode!!!! It was the cutest, sweetest, most precious moment ever! Christmas Day is going to be so fantastic this year!!!

Thanksgiving in WV

We headed up to WV this year for Thanksgiving with Troy's family. I was so nervous about how the girls would do traveling and of course they outdid themselves. There was no crying on the way up there and they just went straight to sleep when we arrived that night. We stopped twice to let them play and stretch their legs and burn off some energy and it was great!
We had such a great time with everyone up in WV. The girls did so great and Adley got to meet tons of new family! They got to play with their cousin Lincoln and even see some snow! Very cool-
On the way home we stopped for the night in Columbia and played with Porter and Hudson. This was also so much fun! The played and played and wore themselves totally out-which was the plan! We had such a great Thanksgiving. Now on to Santa!!
